(OLF News, May 17, 2009) OLF News correspondents from Eastern Oromia reported that two Oromo nationals in Eastern Harargee zone, Mr. Abdurashiid Ibrahiim and Mr Hassan Ibraahim Tuulee, lost their lives due to a severe illness inflicted on them by an extended torture in the TPLF-Ethiopian prison for allegedly supporting OLF. Mr. Abdurashad Ibrahim, a farmer who was born and grown up in Eastern Harargee zone Burqaa Tirtiraa District was reportedly arrested by the regimes forces and severely tortured by the same false allegation of supporting OLF and in an attempt to solicit information about the movement of OLF by inhumanly beating and torturing for a long time which eventually lead to permanent illness causing his death. Although the Wayyaanes tried to give Mr. Ibrahim a medical treatment twice by secretly taking him out of prison in order to hide their torture crimes, they were unable to save his life and the innocent farmer died on May 08, 2009 at age 38.
In a related news, Mr. Hassen Ibrahim Tuulee, who was born and grown up in Baddanoo district, at a place known as Tortoraa Guddaa, is reportedly killed by the regime’s forces in a similar situation by an illness inflicted on him by an extended torture. Mr. Tuulee, a merchant and a father of 7 children, after severely beaten by the same allegation of supporting OLF, not only lost his life but also the regime’s forces confiscated his life time private property such as car, tent, and so on.
It is to be recalled that several Oromo prisoners have been killed due to excessive torture during the current TPLF-Ethiopian regime. While the number of Oromos killed in the regime’s prison over the last 17 or so years is so large that it is impossible to compile, it is important to mention few of those that have been reported. 1) Alemayehu Gerba, died in Kalittii Prison in October 2003 due to excessive torture and heavy malnutrition during a two year detention period. Nineteen other Oromo prisoners were shot dead during the same period in the same prison. 2) Morkata Edossa, also died in Kaliti prison at the beginning of November 2005, reportedly from excessive bleeding following torture during prolonged detention. 3) Ayisha Ali, a 14 year old girl, together with 20 other prisoners were killed in Miessso prison, Eastern Oromia, and their bodies were thrown to the near by mountainous jungle known as "gaara suufi". Their bodies were eaten by wild animals and pieces of the bodies were identified by their clothes by the local people and by their relatives and was buried a week later.
